The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) is one of the premier Engineering Colleges in India, founded even before the Country got its Independence in 1946 by 3 retired Engineers - S. Ramaswamy, D.V Narsimha Rao and T. Rama Rao.
It was the First private Engineering College in Mysore and the second in the State.
The College is located in Mysore, India. It is about 100 miles south west of Bangalore, the capital city of the state, Karnataka.
The College was initially affiliated to The University of Mysore - a very prestigious university of India (till 2001) and is currently affiliated to the Visveshwaraiah Technological University.

		35 Reads The bygone days of our college life really calls us back. If I can get back my college hood I am ready to forgo every thing. The class rooms , the strikes, the hostel strikes. The ragging days. The ladies used to take our ragging like reciting The National Anthem. We had our internals which was as usual a cheating competition. 		472 Reads The aeromodelling workshop conducted by SAE at NIE was really useful and an opportunity for us to learn this art .We are really proud to have such type of acitvities in our college . We have learnt the basics of constucting glider with remote controlled navigation. It was conducted on 1st through 4th May 2008. 1 Comment

		794 Reads Regarding our annual college fest which is called ''techNIEks''.its scheduled to be held on 6 th, 7 th and 8 th of march.its a huge event of NIE college.i dont think no other event in our college does take place at such a large scale.this is the event where everything is looked after and taken care by the presiding students only. Every year we actually run out of budget due to lack of support from the needed side. Students with contacts do run around for sponsorships which helps us to bare the minimal costs.I feel again that in this competitive world these kinda fests portray the way of thinking of the college.So anybody interested in helping in improvising can do so by sponsoring the next annual fests. 		995 Reads I hereby request the NIE alumni to make the management of NIE understand engineering is not simply just studying. There should be prominance to curricular activities too and the students need to be encouraged to attend technical fests conducted by prestigious institutions like IIT and NIT. Read more... 		962 Reads The NIEAA Golden Jubilee Celebrations were held on Wednesday the 03/11/2007. It was a bright, sunny Wednesday Morning and Mr. Aprameya [FOUNDER PRESIDENT of NIEAA] was honored at his residence itself because of his ill health. All the Executive-Committee members went to Mr. Aprameya’s modest residence at VontiKoppal, Mysore and honored Mr. Aprameya at his residence and everyone prayed god for the well being of Mr. Aprameya.
